Music and sound design work.
LAWRENCE ERVIN

Lawrence Watusi Ervin is an artist and developer working in North Carolina under the name Watusi.

His work centres on building tools rather than finished objects - instruments that other people use to make their own things. Tone Designer is a browser-based modular synthesizer that exports production-ready Tone.js code; you patch it visually and it hands you working audio software. It is open source and has been forked and used by developers building their own audio applications. Micrographic Engine is a typographic and generative design tool built on OpenType and Paper.js. Both are free and public.

He also releases sound design work, and runs Extendo, a design practice, and Viva Carta, an ongoing enquiry into the philosophy of design.

He is available for commissioned work in design, audio, and tool-building.
